Understanding working copies

Meridian allows users to share documents with others and at the same time allows them to see what others have done. This visibility is controlled by a vault’s configuration. If a vault’s Work Isolation Mode (WIM) is enabled, users whose documents are currently under change are the only ones who can see the working copies of released documents. All other users see the last released revision of the documents. When changes are complete, the users submit the documents so that everyone can see the latest revisions.

If the vault’s Work Isolation Mode is cleared, users can use either document type workflow or workflow definitions to create new revisions, but saved changes to the document are immediately available for everyone to see. For more information on Work Isolation Mode, see Understanding Work Isolation Mode and the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise Administrator’s Guide.
